Easy Daily Habits to Optimise Energy

by

We’ve all been there… sitting at our desk, knowing we need to do something, but energy is wavering, so we postpone, we avoid, or we distract ourselves with some kind of instant gratification and avoid the task at hand, because today, probably like yesterday, we just don’t have the energy. This is not the path to productivity and high performance… and often, it’s a simple fix.

When it comes to energy, there are two basic types. Mental energy and physical energy. Physical energy comes from optimal nutrition, sleep, hydration, breathing and exercise. Mental energy comes in two basic types: motivation and inspiration. This speaks to your “WHY.” Motivation is more associated with doing and offers temporary satisfaction. Inspiration is associated with being and offers long-lasting fulfilment. For example, you can be motivated to DO something, like make money or be inspired to BE something, like a good person.

If we are to optimise our energy, we need to understand as individuals what adds and what subtracts. In other words, it’s not just what you do, it’s what you don’t do. On a physical level, most people are eating, moving (too much sitting), breathing poorly and spending too much time indoors. Add stress, and now we have an inflamed body, being drip-fed cortisol and adrenaline, pushing the health dangerously towards a scenario of being shut down mentally and plugged up physically, with inflammation. This leads to an energy-deficient lifestyle… with sugar and caffeine fixes compounding the problem.

If we are going to get on top of our performance and our life, we need to take care of our mind-body connection. I.e., consciousness and chemistry. We need to put good materials into our body, supplements where necessary, circulate these nutrients with healthy amounts of sunlight, correct breathing and movement and recover from these healthy stressors with good sleep, so we build a strong and resilient body. But this (the chemistry side)  is only around 20-25% of the energetic equation.

Did you know that the mind represents around 75-80% of our energy? You know this because inspiration gives so much more energy than a good breakfast, and depression can crash your energy more than sugar… and for longer.

If we are going to increase our mental energy and with it, our state of mind, we will need a way. This can be achieved via Kelee® Meditation… which offers a map of the mind and a way to free the mind from mental dysfunction, opening to deeper states of awareness and innate knowing. When good emotion is circulating through you, it heals you and promotes better decisions and actions.

In summary, what compromises performance is fear or fatigue. To optimise the mind-body connection, know this: movement heals the body; stillness heals the mind.  Now, you are developing a strong mind-body connection to support performance and a quality lifestyle.
